Microbrewing

A friend came to me with a unique request: to guide them through brewing a special drink for a gold themed event. After sourcing the equipment, I guided them through the process of selecting and gathering "gold-coloured" ingredients: root ginger, honey, maple syrup, brown sugar, lemon, tea leaves, cinnamon, and golden syrup.

The project involved a year-long fermentation process, followed by another year of aging after bottling. The end result was a unique 12% alcohol, slightly sparkling drink that blended the characteristics of ginger beer, mead (fermented honey), and acerglyn (fermented maple syrup).

The project concluded by decorating each bottle with gold wrapping and tying off with a gold-edged ribbon, successfully creating a one-of-a-kind gift. This project is a perfect example of how I can guide others to create their own unique fermented beverages from start to finish.
